helplessly holding the hand of another moon’s light
and we sat down for lunch
and talked together
she said real words don’t matter
and those songs they aren’t clever
i suppose a sigh says it all when served with ignorant eyes
it's the weight you carry
and the weight i carry above my frowning eyes
something she saw said they wish he’d see change
something he saw said the same thing
no need to be funny
it's not too funny anymore
stuck in something bitter
could do with some better weather
I suppose
no need to shrug about it
you know i’ll always keep her close
as close as she wants me
indefinitely lucky when she's around me
clover to clover in some better weather
that's a hopeful september
