high and low
i leave my hands below
the ruins by the north lake
if only i could sleep
bold and blue through open eyes
i’m searching in weathered wonders as i lie down
as the light leaves
i dust down my sleeves and sing myself to sleep
dusty doors as the curtains drawer
i paint a picture
as the sounds creep in
through the ceiling
and through the floor
i paint a picture of it all
something tells me that i’ll be just fine
no one hows i’ll make it mine
every time it comes around
i doubt i’ll ever get the sound
as it leaves right out the front door
and as i leave alongside it all
as the light leaves
i dust down my sleeves and sing myself to sleep
